Escuelita El Sembrador (Little School of the Sower)

Our boys’ school is a special program designed for “adult” learners. For example, our fourth grader is very non-traditional at age 18.

This year, El Sembrador has several staff members who have younger children. These six, Spanish-speaking kids are more traditional in age, ages 5 to 9 and are in kindergarten through fourth grade.

Lixa de FigueroaLixa de Figueroa is their teacher and is using traditional curriculum. The kids seem very happy and are learning a lot. They have beautiful handwriting, seem to love math, and work very hard.

Their school even has uniforms for class and P.E. Each student participates in all traditional subjects as well as P.E., art, music, English classes, computer, and Bible. The classroom is active, colorful, and very practical. The students have class from 7:00 A.M. until 11:20 A.M.

Bryan FigueroaLixa also teaches in our boys’ school. She has eighth grade in the non-traditional program. Her husband is Daniel; he is the director and head teacher in the industrial mechanics program. They have one son, Bryan, and are expecting another on November 12.
